Director general for research and innovation, French Ministry of higher education, research and innovation As a doctor in molecular and cellular biology, trained at the ENS in Lyon, Claire Giry has worked throughout her career in the animation and administration of the scientific community. In particular, she has been responsible for the development of national, European and international partnerships at the Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives and Inserm. Claire Giry was also technical advisor to the Prime Minister for Higher Education and Research between 2007 and 2009, then head of the joint department of the DGESIP and the DGRI of the MESRI, in charge of territorial issues and the implementation of the first Investment Programme for the Future. She directed the "Centres of Excellence" programme of the General Commission for Investment, before joining Inserm in 2012 where she was appointed Delegate Director General and then Acting Director.
