ESPCI Paris - PSL

ESPCI Paris - PSL is a City of Paris school of engineering and a world-class center for research. Each year, the school recruits 90 of the most highly qualified students and educates them in physics, chemistry and biology, with particular focus on research and practical coursework.

ESPCI Paris - PSL, the École Supérieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielles de la Ville de Paris, stands out for the high-level, interdisciplinary, and research-based science education it provides, blending the fundamentals of science with a strong focus on applied aspects and innovation.

Every year, it trains close to 90 student engineers recruited from the best Bac+2 and Bac+3 undergraduate programs in France and abroad. It provides an original curriculum in physics, chemistry and biology, with particular focus on research and practical coursework. Students study under the guidance of over 500 researchers, and 70% of the school’s alumni continue their studies to the dissertation level, a statistic no other school in France can claim.

The school is recognized the world over for its excellence in basic and applied research; its ten research centers are fertile ground for innovations of industrial application.
A gem of French teaching, the school has had six Nobel Laureates among its scholars (Marie and Pierre Curie, Frédéric Joliot-Curie, Pierre-Gilles de Gennes, Georges Charpak) and is ranked one of the two top engineering schools in France in the Shanghai ranking.

The school attracts an ever-increasing number of applicants, and its engineers and PhD engineers form a formidable pool of new talent for the R&D departments of large-scale corporations with whom the school has established strong ties. Its graduates likewise contribute to fundamental academic research programs.
The school is also home to its own startup incubator, which currently hosts 16 companies of strong technological potential.
