Groupe Louis Bachelier is an organization and network that funds, disseminates and enhances the highest levels of research in economics and finance.
In 2016, ILB was home to 47 active research programs and 350 researchers.
Created in 2008 by France’s Direction Générale du Trésor and Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, ILB is supported by two foundations: Institut Europlace de Finance (EIF) and the Fondation du Risque (FdR).

ILB, EIF and FdR are the three pillars of the Louis Bachelier group. Together with these foundations, the Louis Bachelier group therefore represents a scientific network of significant size and scope.

Through its network, the Louis Bachelier group brings together academic institutions, private companies and government agencies working collectively to promote a sustainable financial environment.
The network focuses on four main areas of study that are reflective of large-scale societal transitions:

  •  THE BANKING AND FINANCE TRANSITION
  • THE ENERGY TRANSITION
  • THE DEMOGRAPHIC TRANSITION
  • THE DIGITAL TRANSITION
