MSCA Conference Speakers - Thomas Bonnard

Thomas Bonnard obtained his PhD in biomedical engineering at Paris Sorbonne Cité University in 2014. His research focuses on the development of nanotools for vascular disease treatment and diagnostics.

In 2015, Thomas Bonnard received a European postdoctoral MSCA fellowship (WHRI academy – Marie Curie COFUND) to work at the NanoBiotechnology lab headed by prof Hagemeyer at the Australian Centre for Blood Diseases, in Melbourne, where he acquired extensive skills in protein engineering and nanoparticle synthesis. He specifically focused on the biocompatibility of nanomedicines required for clinical translation and developed fully protein-based biodegradable nanoparticles used as molecular imaging probes for thrombosis.
He then joined, thanks to a fellowship from Caen Normandy University (UCN), the Laboratory of Physiopathology and Imaging of Neurological Disorders (PhIND – Inserm U1237) in France, directed by Prof Denis Vivien, with the project of developing nanomedecines for molecular imaging of vascular inflammation. He was recently appointed an researcher position and is co-leading the In vivo brain imaging theme with Dr Maxime Gauberti within the Blood and Brain Institute (BB@C).
He kept involved with the Marie Curie Alumni Association network and was appointed chair of the France Chapter in March 2019. He organized events around the theme of science diplomacy and connections between the academic area and the biotech industry. The MCAA France Chapter recently organized a French Biotech Seminar putting together young researcher and actors of the start-up world in the Biotech industry.

You will have the opportunity to discover his presentation during the sequence on the strategic orientations of the MSCA program.
