Arnaud Tourin holds a PhD in physics from the Université Paris Cité and is a professor at the ESPCI Paris-PSL. He was deputy director (2009-2013) and then director (2014-2022) of the Institut Langevin, a laboratory dedicated to waves that combines, in a very multidisciplinary spirit, fundamental physics, instrumental developments and business creation. He was a member of the National Council of Universities (2007-2010) and a member of the National Committee for Scientific Research (2012-2016). His research focuses on wave propagation in complex media, with contributions in the fields of ultrasound, microwaves and geophysics. He has co-authored more than 80 publications in peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings and books. He is co-inventor of 6 patents and co-founder of Time Reversal Communications. With three of his colleagues, he was awarded the Diderot Innovation Prize in 2007. He joined the executive committee of PSL as Vice President for Research and Outreach in July 2022.
