Call for applications: Admission into the 2017 SACRe doctoral program
The Sciences, Arts, Creation, Research (SACRe) doctoral program is open to all Master’s level graduates from any higher education institution, experienced artists, and theoreticians.
The SACRe doctoral program seeks to be a doorway into exploration of the common ground between research and creation, serving as a vehicle for creators and researchers to invent together. The goal is to foster the emergence and development of unique projects that blend creation and research. Interdisciplinary in spirit, this doctoral program unites artists, creators and actors with theoreticians in the hard, human, and social sciences, harnessing close connections between thought and the tangible world.
This unique program is the result of cooperative relationships between five Grandes Ecoles of art and creation at the highest level and the Ecole normale supérieure: the Conservatoire national supérieur d’art dramatique (CNSAD, professional acting school), the Conservatoire national supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (professional training in music, dance, and sound technologies), Ecole nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (EnsAD-Paris, artistic, scientific, and technical training for artists and designers), Beaux-Arts de Paris (artistic creation), La Fémis (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Métiers de l’Image et du Son, the French national film school).
All of these schools are PSL member institutions. SACRe doctoral candidates will start their program of study at PSL at the beginning of the coming academic year. Students may receive a three-year doctoral contract or fellowship. Following successful defense of their dissertation projects, students will receive a PhD from PSL.
Applications will be available starting Monday, April 3, 2017 and must be submitted by Monday, May 22, 2017. Applications are open to students throughout the world, and no age limit applies.
