Call for projects : Junior Research Chairs and « AI for societal impact »
This call for proposals is aimed at young international scientists at an early stage in their careers. The offered postdoctoral positions include a competitive salary, fundings for travelling and publications. Closing of the applications : June 28, 2024. Positions starting in September or October 2024
- Two (one theoretician, one experimentalist) in natural sciences (including mathematics and computer science) or engineering. Applications at the crossroads between physics and other disciplines are particularly encouraged. The experimentalist will receive an installation package (€150,000)
- Two at the crossroads between natural sciences or engineering and Humanities & Social Sciences, e.g., AI and Society, digital humanities, ecological transition, engineering/design/architecture...
Eligible profiles
The candidates must :
- Currently be abroad, either for their PhD or a first postdoctoral position
- Not have obtained their PhD at PSL University.

- Two at the Women's Cancer Institute (ICF, “Institut des Cancers des Femmes”), at the crossroads of AI and research on cancer, in order to better understand, prevent and cure women’s cancers, breast and gynecological cancers .
This program is financed by Google.org, which philanthropic activities aim at solving some of the biggest challenges facing the world today. Any intellectual property created thanks to these fundings must be made open source.

Selection process :
Candidates shall contact a PSL faculty member and apply with him/her to build their project. The faculty member will transmit to the PSL Research Department (jrc@psl.eu) his/her letter of recommendation and the candidate’s application file (only one application per team) including the following documents :
- Resume with a list of publications (maximum two A4 pages)
- Research statement and description of the project (maximum two A4 pages)
- Two letters of recommendation from senior scientists
