Call for proposals: UCL-̳ collaborative research groups in the arts, humanities and social sciences
UCL (University College London)’s Institute of Advanced Studies and Cities partnerships Programme and ̳ are pleased to invite proposals for funding for new collaborative interdisciplinary research projects of three years in the arts, humanities and social sciences, bringing together academic staff and doctoral students from across UCL and PSL
Each of these new collaborative projects would benefit from up to three years of funding, in the region of 10 000 € per year. The duration of funding provides scope to develop a longer-term project and to firmly establish relationships between partners. The project team should have a core membership comprised of at least two established academics from each institution. Additionally, contributions from PhD students and postdoctoral researchers from each institution are strongly encouraged. There is no upper limit to the number of participants, nor any requirement for all participants to be involved for the entirety of the project. Applications will be assessed by a combined UCL/PSL panel. The panel will consider the academic content of the application as well as its longevity and sustainability. Applicants are encouraged to consider mechanisms to “embed” the partnership into their own departments.
Project teams will have considerable independence and flexibility in terms of setting their own objectives and planned outputs. Outputs might include:
- independent or collaborative grant proposals
- the development of collaborative academic programmes such as collaborative PhDs
- independent or collaborative articles or volumes
- regular series of joint workshops or guest lectures
- summer or winter schools
The deadline for submission of applications is 23:59 UK time, 16 November 2020.
