Drawing contest: create the next coat of arms for PSL Sport!
Rugby, tennis, women's football… every year, our athletics teams hold PSL's coar high in cross-university tournaments. For the beginning of the 2021 academic year, the PSL Sport teams calls on students to be creative and design a new coat of arms. The coat will worn by the PSL sport-lovers on their shirt and allow them to unite and strenghten their common identity under a single emblem.
The author or authors of the selected project will be granted a €500 prize.
Who can join the contest?
The contest is available to all students registered at PSL or in one of its component schools, associate members or partners.
The applicants should send only one proposal; however, a proposal may be sent by a group of people. All submissions must be original works.
Proposals for the coat of arms should be sent to vieetudiante@psl.eu before June 30, 2021, along with the project presentation form.
Guidelines and specifications
The projects submitted for the new coat of arms should follow the specifications:
- Square form or can fit into a square frame like a coat of arms or sports emblem. The coat of arms will appear on the heart of the team jerseys and will be used as an avatar for the social networks,
- Color: Use "PSL Blue" (Pantone 072C / CMYK 100-87-0-0) as the dominant color, and if necessary another color,
- Should include a 5-pointed star, in reference to the star in the PSL logo,
- Include the words "PSL Sport" is required, "Université́ Paris" in baseline if possible,
- The file must not exceed 5Mb,
- Information about the fonts and colors used should be attached to the work submitted. The PSL font is Cera Pro, but the new design can be done without this specification.
The intellectual property of the winners will be governed by French law.
Selection criteria
The jury in charge of selecting the winning coat of arms will be made up of representatives of the student sports communities of PSL schools and their Athletics services, the head of PSL's sports department, and officials from PSL's representative bodies (academic senate, student life service, executive committee, communications department).
The jury will make its decision by the end of July 2021 and will be based on the following criteria:
- Compliance with the specifications,
- Simplicitý and clarity of the coat of arms,
- Creative concept,
- Agreement with the PSL identitý,
- Agreement with the PSL Sport spirit,
- General aesthetics,
- Adaptabilitý to different media.
To win the prize and avoid being disqualified, follow the rules and be creative, because competition will be wild!
