El Mouhoub Mouhoud Elected President of ̳ and the PSL Foundation

El Mouhoub Mouhoud’s candidacy, unanimously proposed by the Council of members to the ̳ Board of Directors, was approved by a majority of the Board (28 votes in favor, 1 against, 0 abstentions) on December 17, 2024. His five-year term is renewable once. This vote reflects the trust placed by the university community in his vision to strengthen an international institution through ten strategic actions.
El Mouhoub Mouhoud was also unanimously elected President of the PSL Foundation (27 votes in favor) by its Board of Directors on December 19, 2024.
The five elected members of the ‘Democracy and general interest at the heart of PSL’ list, supported by the CGT, FSU and Sud-Education, sub-colleges 1 to 3, did not take part in the vote.
Biography
El Mouhoub MOUHOUD is Professor of International Economics and former President of PSL University. From 2020 to December 2024, he was the President of Université Paris Dauphine – PSL. He obtained his PHD at the University of Paris 1 Sorbonne and is a laureate of the Agrégation de Sciences Economiques (French national concur for university full professors). E.M. Mouhoud's research focuses on Globalization, European integration and EU enlargement, foreign direct investment and global value chain and international migration. He has published numerous books and academic articles on these topics. He is a research fellow at the Economic Research Forum (Cairo) and at the French Institut des migrations. He is also a member of the Cercle des économistes ().
E.M. Mouhoud has been committed to fostering close links between academic work and economic policy as a scientific advisor to the Commissariat Général du Plan ("National Planning Agency"), and as a consultant to the OECD (International Migration Division), the World Bank and the UNFPA... He has been a visiting professor at many foreign universities (New School for Social Research in New York, Institute for the Transregional Study of the Contemporary Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia at Princeton University, Fudan University-Shanghai, Hanoi University, Seoul National University, University of Bogota ....).
As President of Université Paris Dauphine – PSL, he has developed an innovative strategy to promote bi-disciplinarity from the Licence to the Doctorat. He has opened a double Bachelor's degree in AI and Organizational Sciences, which includes 50% women. It has set up “binomial theses”, enabling two PhD students from two different disciplines to work together on the same subject (each with their own thesis director) within the framework of a chair.
