Tailor-made training
The competition is much more than a public event: it enables doctoral students to perfect their ability to explain and communicate their research in an accessible way. This approach strengthens exchanges with the general public and raises the profile of their work.
In order to maximise their chances of success, the Doctoral College of ̳ provides candidates with dedicated training and tailor-made support in preparation for the competition. Doctoral students wishing to attend the training course without taking part in the competition can also register, subject to availability.
The course will take place over 3 days (2 days for the group as a whole, while the third day will be dedicated to preparing candidates for the competition). Each candidate will also benefit from a personalised remote session to build their confidence and help them finalise their pitch.
Registration for the training course is primarily open to doctoral students:
- From the second year of doctoral studies in one of ̳'s establishments for the 2024-2025 academic year;
- Or having obtained their doctorate degree from ̳ during the 2023-2024 academic year;
- Have informed their thesis supervisor and/or funder and unit director of their participation in the competition;
- Oral fluency in French;
- Undertaking to complete the ENTIRE course;
- And for those entering the competition: Be available to take part on the dates mentioned in the calendar up to the international final in September or October 2025. A selection will be made according to the following criteria: Priority to PhD students in 2nd year and above; Motivation of the candidate; Order of receipt of applications; Respect, as far as possible, of a balance between disciplines and between women and men.
Doctoral students wishing to take part in this training course, whether as part of the competition or solely for the training aspect, must register on ADUM, specifying the purpose of their registration in the box reserved for this purpose on the form (“motivations” box).
