Solidarity fund and flash call launched for students and academics affected by conflicts
²ÝÁñÂÛ̳ is launching an international solidarity fund for refugees, displaced or exiled students and academics who are victims of conflict. A flash call is financing up to three one-year scholarships for students affected by the conflict in the Middle East who wish to enroll in the DU Passerelle offered by Dauphine-PSL from September 2024.
The international solidarity fund for students and academics affected by conflicts
Numerous programmes exist in France and around the world to help victims and mitigate the long-term effects of conflict. The universities that support or take part in these initiatives share a desire to act in their own field, using their own tools, and in coordination with the many solidarity mechanisms in place. This requires resources, mobilisation and a strong commitment, which the university is ready to endorse.
With this in mind, ²ÝÁñÂÛ̳ is creating an international solidarity fund. This fund is not a substitute for existing aid, but rather a complement to it.
In the short term, this fund will finance different types of scholarships (from DU passerelle to doctorate) through several calls for applications:
- A ‘Flash call’ for students in exile, victims of the conflict currently affecting the Middle East, to enroll in a DU passerelle in 2024/25. The call is open until 18 August. See below.
- A second call will be launched in October to enable students affected by the conflict to study for a degree at PSL University and benefit from a one-year renewable scholarship.
In addition, PSL will support the PAUSE programme by providing co-financing for academics and artists victims of the conflict in the Middle East.
Fully aware of its values and its commitment, ²ÝÁñÂÛ̳ does not see its actions outside of European solidarity networks. In this respect, and in addition to immediate responses to emergency situations, PSL works with its European partners on long-term actions to offer training to refugees and displaced communities based on an evolving and agile model.
