Women in Science: PSL doctoral students and postdoc fellows granted the 2022 L'Oréal-UNESCO Young Talents award
On October 11, six young female researchers from PSL received the L'Oréal-UNESCO "Young French Talent" award as part of the "For Women in Science" 2022 program, granted by the Fondation L'Oréal in partnership with the French Academy of Sciences and the French National Commission for UNESCO.
Noemi Renaudin, Chloé Pozas-Schacre, Lucie Ries, Meryem Baghdadi, Rachel Breton and Victoire Cachoux are doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows at , , , and . Their research work explores fields ranging from biology to computer science, including physics, within the laboratories and leading departments of ̳.
These six brilliant young researchers were selected from among more than 660 other candidates for the excellence of their application, the originality of their scientific project and their desire to pass on their passion to the young audiences. In addition to a research grant of €15,000 for doctoral students and €20,000 for post-doctoral fellows, they will each benefit from a training program to complement their scientific career and help them break the glass ceiling.
For 16 years, the L'Oréal-UNESCO "For Women in Science" Young Talent Award has encouraged the emergence of a new balance of power in the scientific world. Each year, ̳ invites young scientists to apply for this call for proposals and is particularly proud to claim so many of them among the winners.

Women in Science: encouraging and supporting initiatives to fill the gap
Less than 35% of the world's scientists are women and only about 30% of female students choose science, technology, engineering, and mathematics-related fields in higher education. These percentages are changing, but women are still struggling to make a fair contribution to solving the world's crises - social, environmental or economic. Within ̳, many initiatives contribute to promoting the work of women in science at PSL, such as research chairs, associations, individual or collective projects, dedicated events.
