PSL Sport Through Mahammad's Eyes
Staying physically active is important, along with maintaining academic life. It provides motivation and helps maintain a healthy, athletic body. However, choosing which sport at university to pursue can be challenging when you have more than 40 options with PSL Sport from rugby, judo, and squash to boxe, swimming and even pilates and yoga. If you're like me when it comes to making decisions, you might find it hard to pick just one. That’s why I chose three sports for leisure: volleyball, badminton, and padel.
You may wonder how I found the time for all these activities. I didn’t. Even though I wasn’t consistent with all the sports because of the time limit, I was excited and fully invested in every single session.
Let’s delve into each sport that I tried. My volleyball career was short-lived. In the second session, I injured both ankles while jumping to block a ball. Yes, you read that right — it was plural, “ankles.” And yes, the doctor was also shocked at how I managed to do it. Nevertheless, nothing could stop me from training for the Olympics in Paris.
So after recovering, I decided to explore my skills in racket sports. Was I better at these? Perhaps the best way to answer that is with Einstein’s theory of relativity, but to put it simply: yes, I was. As I said earlier I did padel and badminton, and I loved both of these sports. Some students were already so good however it wasn’t hard to catch up after several trainings. The coaches were excellent at explaining the techniques, and I learned a lot about those sports while enjoying them immensely. I was also watching videos to learn more techniques.
PSL Sport is a superb service where you get to discover so many sports for an affordable price and have the opportunity to make friends from different PSL schools through sports. You can find more about it on this presentation page.
PSL Sport Through Jade's Eyes
You’re probably wondering how you’ll juggle all your class hours, exams, university parties, and time with friends or family during your higher education. And let’s not forget your sports sessions. Great question!
Don't worry, I'm not going to suggest you drastically reduce your nights out – it's essential for unwinding! In this article, I simply want to reassure you that you’ll be able to keep practicing your favorite sport when you arrive at PSL.
I had been playing competitive handball for six years when I started my Bachelor's degree at . It became increasingly difficult to train twice a week and play matches every weekend. So, in my second year, I decided to join PSL Sport and the women's handball team for competitions. Yes, at PSL, you can participate in sports for leisure, competition, or as part of your coursework (UE). Any student can choose the UE Sport option, provided their PSL school allows it and the UE Sport schedule fits with their timetable. As a UE, it means you do it as part of your curriculum, with evaluations that count towards your final degree grade. There are 15 sports available as UE options and around 40 for leisure. Yes, it's HUGE!
I don’t regret leaving my handball club at all to join the university team at Dauphine-PSL. Those two years were fantastic, allowing me to meet other players from various backgrounds and skill levels at Dauphine-PSL. We trained on Monday evenings near the campus, played matches against other university teams (like Sciences Po, HEC, etc.) on Thursday afternoons, and even took part in the French University Championships around April.
PSL Sports is also much more affordable than any other sports degree programs in Paris or gym memberships. With an annual subscription costing just €70, or €50 for scholarship students, it's quite a bargain, don’t you think?
Who knows, we might cross paths on the field soon!🤾🏻♀️
